Compare the falls before choosing the ticketed attractions
Maid of the Mist shows the falls from river level. Cave of the Winds is closer, steeper, and wetter. Goat Island and Prospect Point need no attraction ticket, so they remain available when schedules, weather, or mobility rule out the paid attractions.
Maid of the Mist
The boat leaves below the Observation Tower and enters the spray at the base of the falls. Check its current operating season before the trip.
Cave of the Winds
An elevator leads into the gorge, followed by wet wooden decks and stairs beside Bridal Veil Falls. Wear shoes with grip that can get soaked.
